alberta skies



just came across these pics which were taken on the day we had our beaujolais nouveau party, november 19th 2005. thought you might appreciate them.

There seems to be a white/blue area below the clouds. Can you explain this?
The pic is certainly interesting this side of the globe, but that white/blue bit is bugging me.

not sure but it could be a chinook cloud that comes in and literally traps in warmer air. it's unique to this area i believe. of course, i could have it all wrong, should ask the resident wisecrack for his opinion.
